Remember April '96?

In a match reminiscent of Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle in April 1996, one can't help feel a little sorry for West Ham Utd fans, and Alan Curbishley. I felt overjoyed with the win in '96, it was truly one of the best games in a generation. Yet come the next morning one couldn't help thinking that we'd just handed the title to Manchester Utd.
I imagine that, maybe, some Spurs fans might be feeling this way about the fact that they'd just sent West Ham down to The Championship. To be 2-0 up, then 3-2 up, and to loose 4-3 to a goal on the break in the 95th minute, seems to have (to no doubt quote someone from this morning's back pages) put the final nail in West Ham's coffin.
And to make it worse for Curbs, he's been given the dreaded vote of confidence by the board not once but twice in a week. All that's left is for Alan to come on Sky TV, loose it and go on about the fact he'd "love it if......"
